'2 Million Dogs' Cancer Walk this Sunday

The inaugural Puppy Up! walk will take place Sunday, Nov. 4, at T.Y. Park in Hollywood.

Dog Scouts of America Troop 157 is hosting the first ever Puppy Up! walk in Hollywood. This walk is organized by 2 Million Dogs, a charity focused on raising awareness for dog cancer.

Since 2010, 2 Million Dogs finds cities all over the country willing to host the Puppy Up! walk. The first Puppy Up! walk in 2010 had 12 cities nationwide; this year there will be 31, two in Florida.

Here's a video from 2 Million Dogs that explains the purpose for these annual dog walks:

You can register for the walk online ($20) or on Sunday at 9 a.m. at T.Y. Park ($25). The walk beings at 10 a.m. All money goes toward researching the causes of cancer in dogs and the link between human and dog cancers. There will contests, raffles, food, and vendors at 12 p.m. after the walk.
