This Saturday, Oct. 13, 30 contestants will race their cardboard boats in the waters of Hollywood Marina. Teams of three or more will compete for three award categories.
The 4th annual Cardboard Boat Race will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. Contestants will arrive at 8 a.m and will have four hours to build their cardboard boats. Cardboard will be supplied on-site, but participants must bring all other materials to decorate and put the boat together.
The three awards contestants will be competing for are:
- Fastest Boat
- Most Spectacular Sinking
- Most Creative Design
There will be a separate race for boats made offsite. Both races will take place at North Lake in Hollywood Marina. Free hot dogs and drinks will be available for all guests.
