Race for Mayor of Hollywood


All eyes are on this year's election. Well, at least those in Hollywood. Clifford Germano is fighting to become the new mayor of Hollywood, while Peter Bober looks to get re-elected for another four years. Here's what you need to know about each candidate.


Clifford "Cliff" Germano


  • Has lived in Hollywood for 30 years
  • Former Secretary and President of North Central Hollywood Civic Association
  • Is a member of various other committees throughout Broward County such as the Hollywood Citizen Advisory Board, Education Advisory Committee, Marine Advisory Board, and Broward County's School Board
  • Retired in 2008 as the Director of Education and Training for Finishing Trades Institute of Florida, a non-profit organization for job preparedness.



What will Cliff do for you?
  • Allow Hollywood residents to be more involved in city board meetings by not restricting access and scheduling the meetings later in the evening
  • Will be a full-time mayor
  • Will not allow any budget decision to pass without discussion
  • Reduce Hollywood's debt
  • Full transparency. Give residents all information
  • Hire local businesses for services. Keep taxpayer money in the city

Mayor Peter Bober

  • Born in Miami; raised in Hollywood. 
  • First Hollywood official of Hispanic (Cuban) descent
  • Youngest elected official in Hollywood in 2000
  • Has served in the Broward County Resource Recovery Board (Chairman), Broward Water Resource Task Force, Broward County Tourist Development Council, and Broward Workforce Development Board (Chair-ProTem)
  • Is a lawyer at Bober & Bober, P.A. with his wife, Samara


What will Peter do for you?
  • Continue implementing his current policies on community involvement
  • Develop better education in Hollywood
  • Make City Hall decisions accountable to residents
  • Redevelop and protect the environment
  • Create clean energy plants in Hollywood
  • Create more business in Hollywood with new identity
